You know how the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers.”
Well, that sounds pretty and happily optimistic, now doesn’t it? I think whoever first said that didn’t live on a farm.
‘Cause all I see April showers bringing is MUD! Perhaps I’m short-sighted.
Or perhaps I have more than a handful of mud splashing’, rule breaking’ kids and even more manure making’ livestock & poultry. All I know is that most days my kitchen & bathroom are looking like I set the kids loose with a paint brush and cup of watered down mud and they’re doing their level best to leave their mark.
Sadly I don’t have time to set up sentry duty and stand post at the front door to make sure that they’re coming in through the basement and putting their boots in the Boot Bucket. (Which is something very much like this.)
Now that that Month of Mud is drawing to a close, I’m MORE than ready to switch gears and start thinking about setting a spring cleaning action plan! My “lick & a promise” cleaning isn’t cutting it anymore!
I’ve long ago thrown away my conventional cleaners and opted for making my own. They’re far too exponentially inexpensive and effective not to. It takes just as much time to walk down the cleaning aisle and find the best deal as it does to measure out a few household ingredients at home AND far healthier to do so since you know exactly what goes into the cleaners, none of which are toxic to your skin or lungs!
This year, I’m excited to give a few new natural cleaners I got from Grove Collaborative as part of my Ultimate Homemaking Bundle… And mixing up something of my own in the lovely glass bottle that came with them.
I’m sure I’ll be whipping up some window cleaner for my new glass bottle and busting out my trusty Bumble Bee, but here are 25 other amazing natural, non-toxic, DIY cleaning recipes for you, the natural homemaker.
